As seen in Volume One's 2017 "Wedding Advice From the Pros"
Step One: Logistics
So Many Decisions!
Planning a wedding or renewal ceremony can be stressful! For engaged couples, it can be a good opportunity to learn how the two of you resolve conflict within your relationship, and with extended family and friends. For couples who have been together for a long time, the process itself can be renewing, as you draw upon each other's strengths to create a meaningful expression of your love. Here are just some of the considerations. When we agree to work together, I will give you a wedding planner that will walk you through many of these things, provide some additional resources, and more. My desire is to help you in any way I can, and to make this part of your day as special and unique as the two of you.
How much money you have to spend is an important consideration. While it shouldn't stop you from having the special day of your dreams, it can define how you go about doing it. It may set some limits, such as how many guests you invite or how soon you can pull your special day together.
Who will be paying for the wedding? Are parents or others willing or able to contribute to making your special day everything you want it to be?
Are you creative or resourceful? Can you do some of the work yourselves or enlist help to make invitations, party favors, sew dresses, or find what you need at garage sales, discount stores or online?
I can perform a simple civil ceremony or traditional religious ceremony, or create something that is very personal and meaningful, with elements that you can personally re-create on your anniversaries for years to come.
